Broken and Bent
Broken and Bent
twisted, disfigured
fire so weak,
his flame,
how it flickers
Knowing small things,
could grow so much bigger
Life happens fast-
his happens quicker
Can’t live forever,
only so many miles on a ticker-
Will he live long enough-
or give in to an itchy index-
squeezed on a trigger?
There’s gotta be more to life
Though-
He’s not sure what that is
Maybe a wife and some kids?
Success in business?
World renown name?
Genius, or-
Man gone insane?
Fighting for land,
the place where he lives,
Ideologies of which –
He no longer believes
How he feels,
he cannot explain-
perpetually misunderstood,
may as well be his name
He was told:
After the storm,
rainbows came-
He thought there’d be a limit-
an end-
to the torrential rain
A soul,
now-
finely marinated in pain,
He fights with himself,
how much longer can he sustain?
His greatest strength and weakness-
conversations and abuse-
contained within him-
at war with his own-
magnificent brain.
